Hi, I'm James!

I am a saxophonist and music educator based in the Amarillo, TX area.

As a university professor, I teach courses in applied saxophone and jazz improvisation as well as directing a big band and jazz combo. Additionally, I am the soprano saxophonist for the acclaimed Mirasol Quartet, a member of the Triptych Trio, and a frequent performer as a concert and jazz saxophonist and woodwind doubler in the Amarillo music scene.

I am passionate about music education and helping ambitious students eliminate playing frustrations, practice more efficiently, find their artistic voice, and advance their playing to the next level.
